Which Scentsy Fragrances Trigger Memories For You?

The ability to smell is linked to memory. Research has shown that when areas of the brain connected to memory are damaged, the ability to identify smells is actually impaired.  In order to identify a scent, you must remember when you have smelled it before and then connect it to visual information that occurred at the same time.

One of my favourite things about being a consultant for Scentsy is watching people’s reactions as they try our fragrances.  Whether I am at a Scentsy party or an event, I love it when people find a fragrance and they know it reminds them of something but just can’t work out what it is, I then watch as that fragrance is passed around their friends until someone identifies it.

Some of my memory provoking triggers are:-

Christmas Cottage – this reminds me of Christmas when I was growing up in Suffolk.  We used to have an open fire in our living room and it makes me think of me and my brothers at Christmas and my parents making mulled wine.

Simply Black Cherry – maybe a slightly strange memory, but for me this fragrance really reminds me of marzipan and my mum always used to make a Simnel cake at Easter.

Do you have any Scentsy fragrances that trigger memories for you?  I would love to hear them.
