Why Scentsy Is So Much More Than Home Fragrance

This morning, whilst I was in the shower, a thought came into my head.

I love Scentsy because every product creates a feeling.

There are so many different products and companies I could have chosen to sell, but when I joined Scentsy, I honestly knew very little about the products or the company. I simply knew that I loved home fragrance, and that was why I chose Scentsy.

Back in 2011, electric wax warmers were still a relatively unknown concept. I had never used one before, so I really did go into it completely blind.

However, the reason I have stayed all these years is because of the feelings Scentsy creates. Not only for me, but for my family, friends and customers too.

Fragrance has an incredible way of transporting us back to a particular person, place or moment in our lives.

Frosted Marshmallow

Frosted Marshmallow actually makes me feel emotional.

For months, I couldn’t work out why this fragrance made me feel so emotional. There was just something about it that felt familiar, but I couldn’t put my finger on it.

It wasn’t until recently that my brother identified exactly what it reminded us of. It smells like the cakes our mum used to make at Christmas when we were children.

As soon as he said it, everything suddenly made sense.

That fragrance instantly takes me back to our childhood Christmases and those memories of our mum baking in the kitchen.

Suncastles

Suncastles is a much more recent love of mine.

It was available throughout the whole of the Spring/Summer 2025 Catalogue, but for some unknown reason, I never actually warmed it.

I recently ordered some bars from our Clearance section because I had heard that it smells very similar to a well-known fragrance from an extremely popular body fragrance company. If you have a daughter, I am sure the main fragrance note of tropical pistachio will be instantly recognisable!

As soon as I warmed it a few weeks ago, I instantly fell in love.

I already know that this is a fragrance that, years from now, will transport me straight back to this stage of our lives. It will remind me of my two girls being this age and absolutely showering themselves in that style of fragrance before going anywhere.

It also instantly takes me back to our family holiday in Turkey a couple of years ago after our eldest had finished her GCSE exams.

It is amazing how one fragrance can hold so many memories.

Cashmere Pear

Cashmere Pear is another discontinued fragrance that holds a very special memory for me.

It reminds me of my parents-in-law’s home.

My father-in-law absolutely loved that fragrance, and I would always make sure he had a few bars in his living room.

Whenever I smell it now, it instantly reminds me of him and their home.

Buttered Pumpkin Spice

Buttered Pumpkin Spice instantly takes me back to having our first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the year from that famous coffee shop.

That first drink of the season always feels like the official welcome to autumn, which is my favourite time of year.

It is cosy, comforting and full of anticipation for everything that comes with autumn and winter.

Skinny Dippin’

Skinny Dippin’ takes me all the way back to October 2011, when my very first Scentsy Starter Kit arrived.

My kit included two wax bars: My Dear Watson and, of course, Skinny Dippin’.

I can still remember opening that box.

At the time, I had absolutely no idea that the contents of that little box were about to change the course of our lives.

I didn’t know where Scentsy would take us, the friendships we would make, the experiences we would have or how much it would become part of our family’s story.

Skinny Dippin’ will always take me straight back to where it all began.

More Than Just a Fragrance

This is why I love home fragrance, and why I love Scentsy.

Sometimes you put a wax bar into your warmer and, within seconds, you’re transported back to a core memory, a person you love or a particular moment in time.

It could remind you of your childhood, your family home, a favourite holiday or a completely ordinary moment that you didn’t realise would become so important.

Fragrance is so much more powerful than we sometimes realise.

Scentsy doesn’t just make our homes smell lovely.

It helps us create new memories whilst bringing old ones flooding back, and I think that’s pretty special.
